Relinquishing Will
While our Will feels like everything to us, as it is relinquished on the path, we feel joyous.

Tough Day?
God/Goddess/Universe does not want us to have a hard time.

Holding On
In meditation, we are given a gift when we shed an identification. We learn it's o.k., we don't have to hold on to it anymore. And if it is something that we've been holding on to for as long as we can remember, with reasons 'why' long forgotten, we feel we have shed an albatross.

Where Does Cruelty Come From?
God and/or Universe is not cruel. It is we who deny ourselves.

Being Made Whole
Without fail, on the path, one is made whole (healed) to a previously unrealized state which is revealed in meditation, upon giving up a belief, which is by definition, partial in nature. It is Plotinus who said, 'give up everything.' I always remind myself, in the face of doubt, of the edict to give up everything.

Is That Really You?
Often our ego is made up of our parents' fears, which have no basis in reality or fact even though they feel as such. Letting go of them (these secret fears) through meditation reminds us that all beliefs no matter where learned can be found to be unsupported through the act of letting go.

Start by Asking
Healing in meditation is often a question of asking, when one is feeling a state of deprivation stemming from early on in life. In that scenario, you had learned to stop asking and that deprivation which resulted remains in you. So, you've become accustomed to it and feel somehow is was not meant to be filled. You will surprise yourself, however, if you put yourself in a position of vulnerability again, by asking, simply and fully, which can lead to the unpacking of this feeling of deprivation, no matter if it began from an early childhood learned response, or a lesson learned that can finally now be discarded completely.
I have never had a 'no' come from the inside. It seems the inside has no 'no.' There is only living and living is innately a 'yes.'

What is the Question
The questioning principle in meditation is to ask "who am I?" Not as a rhetorical question, but to really ask. You will discover "I am not that."

The Majestic Tree
I'm a big fan and admirer of the tree. Tall and majestic, exposed to the elements, unflinching. And exposed in all its parts for the world to see as it stands tall and true, full of life, fluttering leaves, waving branches and limbs in the breeze, in a caress with the wind.

Nothing is Wrong
The ego can cause one to think "there's something wrong with me," when it is attached to a belief it holds. When you let go of the belief, that is when you may have a realization, a real feeling, that there is nothing wrong with you. Great relief and peace floods in as well.

Beliefs
Sometimes coming out of meditation, when we return to the rational, everyday mind we see that beliefs are often made out of whole cloth, with no substance whatsoever and they can be dismissed as having no actual basis in fact or reality. Beliefs about ourselves - ones that seem "innate" to us, to our make up, are most often those we've adopted in childhood from very early on, earlier than we can even remember, so we do not have an idea as to the nature of their adoption - did we choose it... if so... how, and how do we "unadopt" it.

What Is The Path?
What it is...
it is all waiting for you.... it is a practice of uncovering as much as anything. It is not to be found in any person or any thing. It is as deep as the ocean and all comforting in that envelopment.

Gratitude
Gratitude is everything. By thanking your god, no matter what form 'god' takes in your psyche, you will remain grateful to what is larger than yourself. God figures in the consciousness of everyone, the form of your god may differ from that of your neighbor's.

Recognize Doubt
Doubt occurs as an inherent default position and must be recognized for what it is (or isn't), or else it will be used by your mind (unwittingly) as a stumbling block.

Awareness Comes with Giving Up
After discarding an ego layer, the brain forms a realization, or a thought about what is given up. Rational thoughts arising are of little use during meditation itself.
Trust is All
Trust is the single most powerful thing to access and move into in meditation.

Holding On
We are holding on to our ego because we are trying to project ourselves (the ego self) into the future to remain alive.

Taking Responsibility
Take responsibility for the origin of all your thoughts, most importantly in the situation where you perceive they have the power over you.

Innate Creativity
Innate creativity comes from the life force that propels us forward to live and thrive. The ego can be the biggest barrier of access to it. Strip the ego and find creativity within that is part of our pure make up.

A Place of Rest
The mind's at a place of "rest".... one does not have the roadblocks of "me" in meditation. All is at peace.
